This lovely, fluffy flower was blooming in our yard. I'd seen it before but did not know what it was.
We got our answer at the Plant Clinic at the Morton Arboretum.
It is a fernleaf peony, which comes only in red!
I lived with my husband and children in Papua New Guinea for 10 years. While there I cared for lepers, learned to bake really good bread, to deal with bugs and vermin on a daily basis and be creative with what there was to eat. Returning to the United States was difficult because I was out of my own culture for 10 years. The choices in the US were overwhelming. Just shopping for a can of corn was more than I could handle. Too many choices!
Teaching third grade and fourth grade children was very rewarding. I taught computer skills for eight years. I teach piano and guitar a couple of days a week.
